This morning, I wake up multiple times in the morning, I am stressed because I know that the wind starting at 12 will make it much harder to keep going. I end up getting out of bed at 8h10 and leaving at 9h00 from the hostel. One of the most efficient starts I had in a while. I say bye to the newly met friends that made the time in Belgrade so much fun. We take a few pictures and I get started. My left knee immediately starts hurting, it is going to be a long day but I hope that once it is warm it will feel better. The new seat I have fitted feels so much better and it is a pleasure to ride with a new position and a perfectly fitted bike.
I take my first real break at 12h15, and I have already biked 52km in almost 3 hours, I have 41km left. I know it will be more challenging than during the morning, so I take some time for food and a nap, before riding again.
The rest of the day was brutal, but it also got really fun. The last 10 km were terrible because both my knees started to hurt terribly and the wind really picked up. On top of that the traffic intensified which makes it perilous to bike especially when climbing long hills. I reach the hostel after riding 94km, it looks nice, and excited to take a warm shower since it was cold all day.
Once again, hostels are great places to meet people, we are 4 in the room, and I got a drink offered by the owner, we are sharing it with a German guy my age and Serbian people in the shared living room. The tv is on in the corner with game shows, other people are on the phone, and some are playing chess, a great ambiance. My legs are hurting so much but I feel good after a great day, tomorrow, a break will be needed since it will be stormy again.
