We wake up with Eloi at 7h20, then breakfast with the family, and we leave the house at 8h30. We then bike non-stop and at full speed all the way to Riga for 2h30. These moments are fun. I usually just focus on the riding, no time to take pictures. We just zoom, actually we do spend time taking videos, but while biking. Same for sharing candies and bars, no time to stop. We split, take contact information, and I go to change and adapt my setup. One camping and bike shop later, I have a new sleeping bag, water holders, bags… The bike looks nice now, and the bags are better packed, not perfect but looks much better.
Confidence is everything when cycling across literal countries. Following a “bike athlete” for a few hours, and matching speed help me gain confidence. I rethink the timings and distance I will travel (and some foreshadowing, have efficient next biking days).
Later at night, I arrive in Hostel, which looks more like a bar, no kitchen but bar, no common room but bar. A weird place but there is a bed and a warm shower. I also got 3 free pints of beer from the booking. I just relax and focus on finding good food tonight.
